Definitions

ART OF THE YOUNG STUDENTS (ARTYS or Studio here and below) provides classes for painting, drawing, art crafting and sculpture to children of ages 5 to 12 y.o. In groups of upto 8 students per class (usually less). Following policies and rules are applied to students and parents enrolling into ARTYS art programs.

ARTYS Studio Enrollment.

ARTYS Studio registration form must be completed for every student prior the student can enroll into ARTYS classes. The form must be completed online or alternatively a hard copy can be printed out, completed and returned to the Studio staff. A copy of the registration form can be downloaded at the registration page of the ARTYS web-site. Call ARTYS studio at +1 (650) 9960687 to complete your pre-registration by phone.

An enrollment (one time per term, Fall Season, Spring Season) fee of $45 is applied to each student enrolling into ARTYS programs, the amount will be spent for art materials and supplies required in the course of the program for each season, except clay. An additional fee will applied for the clay on per sculpture course basis, the amount will depend on the size of the sculpture project and will be decided and agreed on per case by case basis.

Enrolling into Classes

By enrolling a student into ARTYS classes the student can attend a certain number of classes (usually 4 clases, 1.5 hours each class until others agreed) during the calendar month. Classes must be paid on a monthly basis during the first week of the month but not later than the time of the first class attended by the student. Payment can be done either online via PayPal, Zelle services or in person with major credit cards, cash or check.

Classes Time and Schedule

We are trying our best to accommodate all requests about the time preferences of attending classes however enrolment into a specific class is always allotted based on availability at the time of payment. Your registration in a class is not guaranteed until your payment is received.

Waiting Lists

Once an instructor’s maximum enrollment is reached, names will be placed on a waiting list and students will be notified if an opening occurs. Waitlisted students will be notified in order received and based on their interest in full class registration. You cannot add yourself to the waiting list while registering online — you must do so over the phone or in person.

Prerequisites for the Classes

ARTYS Studio requires a student to meet certain prerequisites prior to enroll in to ARTYS program:

  • Russian Language Skills. For the time of writing these terms of service most of ARTYS's classes are given in Russian language. It is required that a student can speak and understand Russian language fluently (appropriate for the student ages). Some ARTYS art programs are built around Russian folk literature and fairytales and require the student to understand it in nuances. ARTYS studio reserves the right to terminate the student course if the student can't demonstrate enough level of Russian language skills. In such a case of termination the amount of paid  but unused classes will be refunded to the student.

Drop-in Policy

Though we are not welcoming a drop-in approach,  ARTYS studio may allow a drop-in one day attendance of its class on certain occasions.

One time trial lesson for the fee of $35 can be used by the new students, price is a subject of change, please refer to the current classes catalog.

Per-day drop-ins are allowed at the price of 45$ are allowed in some classes with the consent of the instructor or where noted in the description. Students may drop in ONLY one time before they are required to purchase a full class unless otherwise noted.

Prorating

Classes are not refunded or prorated due to failure to attend, planned absences, minor illnesses or vacations until specifically discussed and agreed to art instructor for the particular class.

Though we do not allow proration or refunds under conditions mentioned above we are practicing so-called class transfers when a student is allowed to attend a class with the same instructor for the similar program within the group different than the group selected at the time of enrollment.

We acknowledge the fact that we are living in a really unusual and hard pandemic time, though ARTYS allows proration up to 2 (two) missed classes per term, e.g. Fall, Spring season etc. in case of major illnesses especially related to COVID 19.
